The nearly daily musings of a unorthodox thinker. Might be thoughts on the television show I watched the night before, the weather, my love of just about anything Dark Shadows or whatever else goes through my incredibly trivia-filled and sieve-like mind.

Books
For the second time in two days, I have discovered that the book I am reading I have read before. Normally that wouldn't bother me very much -- I have read Dorothy Sayers and Agatha Christie books hundreds of times, Mary Stewart's Merlin Trilogy never fails to transport me to the realm of King Arthur and his Knights, so I know the ending, beginning and middle by heart of "To Kill a Mockingbird" or "Gone With The Wind." It's when I start reading a book, realize I have read it and then realize I cannot possibly torture myself with it again. How sad is that? And by that, I mean, I am so stuck in a rut in the genre I book I love to read that I can hardly get out of it. Fortunately, my good friend is a librarian but even her recommendations fail me. I love British mysteries of the old school -- Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple and Lord Peter Wimsey. Alas, their creators have died.

this is in referance to something you said on john's website you are so correct people shouldn't hold grudges but unfortunetly they do i am glad that you don't seem to be that type of person it is very refreshing to see this for a change since people do all the time makes a person want to leave where they are at to get away from it especially when they do mean things in the first place and i don't hold grudges for what they do but thank you for being so uplifting and i mean that sincerely
ReplyDeleteThanks. I don't like to hold grudges, although sometimes I do stay mad for a bit longer than I should I hope you keep reading -- of course, that means I have to keep writing. LOL
ReplyDeletebeen awhile how r u just got a new laptop finally works good lasts a long time ha,ha i wanted to see what you were up to lately say did you say you were a dark shadows fan if so are you going to the convention in LA CA (Burbank) i am hoping to finally go and meet jonathan frid my favorite vampire of all time watched it when i was a kid now i am watching it for the first time in it's entirety amazing what a cult following that show and barnabus collins had and or still have. i think all the vampire impersonations that came after just do not hold a candle to him he was at once both a cruel man on the one hand but so how to put it ummm, heartfelt and broken on the other made you feel very bad for all that happened to him on there even if some was his own doing very sympathetic vampire that is what i was looking for anyway so what have you been up to i retired from my job it i didn.'t mention that i was a mechanic on airplanes and engines for federal express better known as federal distress by it's employees okay okay that was a little corney but.....well write when you get a chance take care
